About Us

A central teaching of Judaism is "Tikkun Olam"
which means "to heal the world"

Tikkun Olam

  • To heal the world, Jews in areas along the border with Mexico are active in giving aid to newly arriving immigrants
  • The Jewish Care Programs across the United States give aid to the poor & elderly, Jewish or not
  • Synagogues contribute to social justice, welfare, education, and many other ways to make their communities better
  • Jews are among the most generous philanthropists in the world.

This is Judaism.

Jewish Artists and Scholars

  • Jewish scholarship has strengthened modern thinking and science from Spinoza to Freud, Marx, Einstein and more
  • Jews have won 20 percent of all Nobel Prizes while Jews are less than 0.2 percent of the world's population (100 times greater)
  • Jewish writers from Amos Oz to David Grossman, Philip Roth, Dara Horn, Nicole Krauss and others have enlightened modern dialogue
  • Jewish composers from Mahler to Bernstein and Berlin enrich our lives

This is Judaism.

Israel

  • The "Start Up" nation has produced thousands of innovations changing the world in medicine, digital technology, and other areas
  • More Start Ups per capita than anywhere in the world
  • USB drive, Waze navigation system, first global instant messaging system, flexible stents for heart disease for a start
  • Dozens and dozens of innovations that drive smart phones, computers, and other systems.

This is Judaism.

Why Antisemitism?

For most of the last 1000 years Jews were usually the only non-Christian group within Christendom. The politics of the Catholic Church, economics, and other factors focused on the Jews as non-Christians, the Other. For 1000 years anti-Judaism has been part of the culture of Christendom. From 1000-1500 physical attacks on Jewish communities in Europe were common. Over the last 150 years Jewish communities have once again been seeing physical attacks.

After the horrors of the Holocaust we thought that it was clear that antisemitism is so horrible that it was dead. Now, it is upon us again, as antisemitism has switched to the Muslim world, and it is being revived in Europe and the United States by neo-facist and White Supremacist groups.

Now, Muslim antisemitism is expanding with academic and left-leaning leaders and fascist/white supremacist ideologies are being embraced by right-leaning leaders. Antisemitism and racism are increasingly embraced by leaders from both the left and the right of the political spectrum in many Western-styled democracies

Why do the White Nationalists have leeway to do attacks on Jews, Muslims, African-Americans, and Spanish speaking immigrants?

Jews make the world a better place.
